Contributed as a QA Tester for MechaDrive, a thesis project and endless runner released on Itch.io. Worked closely with the developer to identify visual and gameplay issues, and to refine the early-level experience.

Key Contributions:

  • Testing & Bug Tracking
    • Conducted thorough manual testing across the first five levels, evaluating visual polish, pacing, and player interactions.
    • Reported five significant issues in Jira, including:

Gameplay Analysis & Feedback

    • Reviewed pacing and flow of Levels 1–5, recommending adjustments to obstacle timing and checkpoint placement.
    • Helped smooth early difficulty spikes, improving onboarding and engagement for new players.

Impact

    • Found the highest number of bugs among the QA testers, enabling faster fixes and a more polished final release on Itch.io.

QA TPP Shooter

QA Tester & Gameplay Advisor – Unreleased Third-Person Shooter Project

Duration: 3 Months (2 official, 1 unofficial)

While managing my school assignments, I contributed to a student-developed third-person shooter, initially as an unofficial gameplay advisor and later as an official QA tester. Over a total of three months, I helped the team stabilize core systems, improve AI behavior, and refine the combat experience.

Key Contributions & Workflow

  • Unofficial Advisory (Month 1): Reviewed early prototypes and provided feedback on gameplay pacing and encounter design, while reporting 6+ early bugs.
  • Official QA (Months 2–3):
    • Logged and tracked 16+ issues in Jira, covering combat polish, AI behavior, weapon mechanics, destructible environments, and UI consistency.
    • Collaborated with the developer through Discord to reproduce, clarify, and verify fixes across iterative builds.
    • Conducted structured testing cycles (smoke, regression, and scenario-specific tests) to ensure stability after updates.
    • Offered actionable insights on level pacing and player feedback loops, improving onboarding and encounter flow.
  • Balanced QA work alongside ongoing school coursework, demonstrating strong time-management and prioritization.
